2. AI Data Processing (Claude by Anthropic)

How AI Powers Receipt.help

Receipt.help uses Claude AI (developed by Anthropic) to automatically extract text and data from your receipt and odometer photos. This AI-powered OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is what makes the app fast and accurate.

When you upload a photo, it is sent to Anthropic's secure API for processing. Claude AI analyzes the image, extracts relevant information (merchant name, amount, date, etc.), and returns the structured data to our app.

Important Privacy Information:

✓ Claude AI does NOT store your photos or extracted data.

Anthropic's policy explicitly states that data sent through their API is not used to train their models and is not retained after processing. Your photos are processed transiently and immediately discarded.

For more details on Anthropic's data handling practices, please review their official privacy documentation:

https://www.anthropic.com/legal

Receipt.help stores the extracted data (text results) in our secure database, but the AI provider (Anthropic) does not.
