Important Tax Disclaimer

Receipt.help is NOT a tax advisor, accountant, or legal professional.

We provide tools to help you organize and track your business expenses and mileage, but we do not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice. The information and features provided by Receipt.help are for informational and organizational purposes only.

You should always consult with a qualified tax professional, certified public accountant (CPA), or attorney regarding your specific tax situation and legal obligations.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Receipt.help mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Receipt.help ("we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of the App.

2. Description of Service

Receipt.help provides a mobile application that helps gig economy workers and independent contractors:

  • Capture and digitize business receipts using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology
  • Track business mileage using multiple IRS-compliant methods (odometer photos, manual entry, address-based calculation)
  • Organize and categorize business expenses
  • Export expense and mileage data for tax preparation

The App uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to extract data from receipt images and odometer photos. The service is designed to help you organize your records, but it does not guarantee tax compliance or provide tax advice.

3. OCR Accuracy Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: Our OCR technology uses AI and may contain errors.

While we strive for high accuracy, the OCR and data extraction features powered by artificial intelligence (specifically Anthropic's Claude AI) are not perfect and may produce incorrect results. Receipt.help makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of extracted data.

You are solely responsible for:

  • Reviewing and verifying all extracted data for accuracy
  • Correcting any errors in merchant names, amounts, dates, or other information
  • Ensuring that your expense and mileage records are complete and accurate
  • Maintaining original receipts and documentation as required by the IRS

We recommend that you manually verify all data extracted by the App before relying on it for tax purposes or business record-keeping.
